"Fantasy Island" was a popular television series that aired in the late 1970s and early 1980s. Created by Aaron Spelling and Leonard Goldberg, the show followed the enigmatic Mr. Roarke, played by Ricardo Montalbán, and his assistant Tattoo, played by Hervé Villechaize. Roarke owned a mysterious tropical island where he granted the fantasies of visitors who came to him seeking to live out their dreams and desires. Each episode featured a new set of guests with their own unique fantasies, which often led to unexpected twists and moral lessons. The series blended elements of drama, fantasy, and morality tales, offering viewers an intriguing blend of escapism and reflection on the consequences of unchecked desires.

Ricardo Montalbán (1920-2009) was a renowned Mexican-American actor celebrated for his diverse roles, notably as Mr. Roarke in "Fantasy Island" and Khan in "Star Trek." His charismatic presence and distinctive voice left an enduring legacy in film and television.
Hervé Villechaize (1943-1993) was a French actor and artist, most prominently remembered for his portrayal of Tattoo in the iconic TV series "Fantasy Island." Standing at just 3 feet 11 inches tall, Villechaize defied physical limitations to deliver captivating performances that left a lasting imprint on popular culture. His role as Tattoo not only showcased his acting abilities but also contributed to important conversations about representation and diversity in the entertainment industry. After being cast away by Fantasy Island producers (for having asked equal pay to Ricardo), he went into depression and committed suicide a few years later.
Hervé Villechaize also portrayed the character Nick Nack in the James Bond film "The Man with the Golden Gun," released in 1974. In the movie, he played the henchman and assistant to the main antagonist, Francisco Scaramanga, who was portrayed by Christopher Lee.
